Hello, and welcome to Hojo's All Star Mega Banana DVD Review. I know what you're thinking, why DVDs? Why not review new release, in the theater movies? My answer is two-fold. Firstly, reviewing DVDs allows me a much broader range of material, including older movies and television. Secondly... I'M A SOCK MONKEY!!! |
Even if I could drive myself to the theater, I couldn't reach the ticket counter! Let's say I got down there, and actually got into the theater, there's people talking and coughing, cell phones going off, and let's not even discuss the public bathrooms...would you want to go in there in your socks? WELL I AM SOCKS!!! So DVDs it is.
My rating system is based soley on the watchability of the movie, and have nothing to do with DVD extras. Let's face it, a lot of times DVD "Special Features" really suck, so they'll only be mentioned if: A) I bothered to watch them, and B) They were worth the bother of watching.
Now a note about the movies I review. You may have noticed from the small (but growing!) list of movies below, that most...okay all, are of the horror variety, and of these horror movies, there's only ONE that I'm recommending on it's merits of being a well made movie! To be honest, you're not terribly likely to hear me saying anything about fine performances, excellent dialogue or brilliant direction. You're much more likely to hear me gleefully lamenting over-the-top acting, lame special effects and the fact that the annoying guy survived. It's just more fun that way.
